MSU Delisting from CoinMarketCap and Coingecko

Since our arrival as the new team behind MetaSoccer, we’ve been focused on building a sustainable hub that rewards both long-time supporters and new users alike. One of the key steps in this process has been transitioning away from MSU, the token originally launched in 2021 by the previous team, Champion Games, and preparing for the upcoming launch of $FUTBOL — the token that will fuel the entire 0xFútbol ecosystem.

Now, as we approach the $FUTBOL Token Generation Event in Q1 2025, we are moving forward with the final steps in this transition. We will now be delisting MSU from CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko.

Why is MSU Being Delisted from CoinMarketCap and Coingecko?

When we took over MetaSoccer, we reassessed its token model and determined that MSU no longer aligned with our vision for the project. It was originally designed as an in-game currency, limiting its role within a broader ecosystem.

MSU was created by the previous team specifically for MetaSoccer, while $FUTBOL is much more than a replacement. Unlike MSU, $FUTBOL will power the entire 0xFútbol hub, integrating with MetaSoccer, Wonderkid, Fútbol PM, and future experiences, creating a unified economy for fútbol fans in Web3.

To transition smoothly, on May 29, 2024, we paused MSU transactions and introduced MSA (previously referred to as “MSG”) as the new in-game currency. MSA has no external market value and is now used for in-game market transactions, scouting, prize distributions, and other game mechanics. As part of this shift, current MetaSoccer players will be able to swap MSA for $FUTBOL at a 1:1 ratio when the $FUTBOL token launches.

With the $FUTBOL launch approaching, we want to remove any confusion for both existing and new users by ensuring a clear and unified token economy.

To complete this transition, MSU will be delisted from CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko.

We’ve always been clear about our commitment to rewarding MSU holders for their support. While we have no contractual obligation, we believe in recognizing those who have contributed to MetaSoccer’s growth. Our focus remains on building the largest fútbol community in Web3, and we appreciate everyone who has been part of this journey.
